Commdia Tuccia, as Emma would say in the dialect from Villa Santo Stefano. We looked so forward to hearing these spoken stories from Italy. She would tell us this story around the kitchen table, or by the stone fireplace when we would visit her and my grandfather in Aliquippa, PA. They each had stories that would captivate the grandchildren.

Once there was a

A little bit about me.

I grew up in a very Italian household. I love and feel so thankful to be filled with inspiration and Italian traditions. I come from a family of artists, makers and dreamers. My childhood summer days were spent making books and stories, making doll clothes and paper dolls. I could spend hours and hours creating. After receiving my BA in graphic design and French from Western Michigan University, I decided that learning Italian was imperative. I moved to Pacentro, Italy where my father is from. I lived with my grandmother and learned Italian. I returned to America and married my college love Peter. We worked and started our own business printing t-shirts and making art. Our business Earth 2 Earth grew and so did our family. Two of my four children work for our business creating and making. I started writing and illustrating this book in 1998 after my firstborn, but never got around to finishing it until now. I kept some of the original graphics, mixed with new styles of art. I hope you will enjoy this story as much as I do.
